So on Monday morning we woke up to BEAUTIFUL weather and Todd told us to get dressed cuz we were headed to breakfast. We got dressed, grabbed a small bag of stuff for the kids, and hopped in the car. Well, when we arrived at Todd's favorite watering hole on the lake it was closed; too early in the season still. We started to just drive on a mission to find another little spot to eat and we ended up in Denver, NC. Todd called up one of us coworkers and his wife, Paul & Deb, and said let's meet for breakfast since we were in their neck of the woods. We had a fun breakfast and then headed over to Paul & Deb's home for a "QUICK" visit. They have an amazing home on Lake Norman and we had absolutely perfect 80 degree weather.

So, as you can see, our Little Red Neck was so excited to be by the lake in the warm sun that he stripped down to his Buzz Lightyear undies and ran around like a crazy man. He had a BLAST and absolutely wore himself out. Remember, we headed to a quick breakfast that morning and I only packed what would be needed for a very SHORT outing.....

After Austin ran around for awhile we headed out on the Pontoon boat. We had a great time. Austin took a great nap and Cody joined him for a catnap as well. We had fun just checking out the homes and talking. Go figure, last Monday we were sledding with friends and this Monday we were on a boat!!!

Cody LOVED the boat. He loved the water and especially LOVED getting to drive. You couldn't pry those cute little fingers off the steering wheel and you couldn't wipe that cute little grin off his face either. Thanks Paul & Deb for the wonderful boat ride.

Cody had fun just hanging out on the boat even after we were back on the beach. He just sat there in the shade and enjoyed his snacks while Austin went skinny dipping..... :)

Hanging with Daddy...........

By now it was close to 4pm and we decided to pack up and head home. One second Austin was dressed and cleaning up, and the next thing I knew our little streaker had his clothes completely off again and was back in the water. So we got comfy on the beach, had some snacks, and continued to hang out....

We ended the day with a BBQ and watching Austin play guitar. Thanks to Deb for having a well equipped house for the kiddos. I had very little packed for our impromptu day, but it all worked out. The kids got baths, were fed, and passed out by the end of the night. We said our goodbyes and headed home 13 hours after we left our house for breakfast. :) To top off the day, we hit a CRAZY raccoon on the way home. It looked at us and ran straight for us. Poor thing; and it was a big one too. YUCK!!!!!
Looks like a fun day! I love how kids don't care at all about stripping down and being naked! So cute!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have weather like Cali! Looks like it was a very fun day!
ReplyDeleteI think you get the same weather we get here in Texas! We were in the 80s over the weekend and today we barely made it to 40 and it's raining! Crazy weather! Love, love, love Cody's face on the boat!
