Colorado meets North Carolina...............

In August, I had one of my good friends from Colorado, Heather, come for a visit. We hadn't seen each other in 16 months, which was too long, and since I left Colorado 8 months pregnant she finally got to meet Cody!!!! We had a fun 5 days together. The boys had a blast playing with her and showing her all through the new house, we made some yummy food together, we went swimming, we played Phase 10 (who rocks?), we had long overdue girl talk, we had a girls night eating out (Brixx) and seeing The Time Traveler's Wife, and we went Treasure Hunting!!! I miss you already Heather!!!! Can't wait to see you again.....

15 Months Old!!!!

Our baby is 15 months old!!! When did he get so old? He is such a crazy boy that melts everyone's heart with his goofy smiles!!! He is running all over the place, finally has 6 teeth, learning a few more words, loves climbing on EVERYTHING, and absolutely LOVES being with his big brother doing whatever he is doing at all times. Our little man is growing up and watching the relationship Austin & Cody are developing is AMAZING!!!! Slow down Monkey Boy!!!

Austin is starting PRESCHOOL!!!!!

Where has the time gone? Is Austin really old enough to be going off to preschool already? Austin started school on August 19th, but a couple of days before the whole family got to attend an orientation and meet Austin's new teachers and see his new classroom. Cody LOVED everything just as much as Austin I think. What a great school this is gonna be!!!! Austin was very excited to start school, but was getting nervous as the Big day got closer. When the first day finally came, Austin decided to wake us up at 4:30am and proceed to tell us he was not going to school and then went on to CRY when they took him out of the car, but was all smiles and full of stories when I went back to pick him up. I knew this was gonna be an adjustment!!! FYI ~ By day #4 Austin hopped right out of the car like the big boy we all know and said bye to mommy & Cody and yelled back I Love You as he walked into school.

"A coincidence is a small miracle sent from God anonymously."

I think this story is more than just a coincidence (CRAZY coincidence), we all think that someway or somehow this was suppose to happen. Almost 6 years ago, Todd and I met a great couple, Meg & Brian, in Jamaica while on our honeymoon. We ended up having rooms next to each other along with sharing the same wedding date and had a blast that week while we were there. Todd and I grew up on the west coast and Meg and Brian grew up on the east coast. We exchanged information and kept in contact at Christmas for a couple of years and then we lost contact after they moved. So, here's where the story gets amazing, last Friday Cody and I were running some errands and I ran into BJ's really quick (it's like a Costco) and we were standing at the check out when the lady in front of me caught my eye (and my memory). I couldn't let her leave before I said something to her so I asked her a very off the wall question, "By chance were you married in October of 2003?" She looked at me wide eyed and said "Jamaica!!!" We were both in shock to realize that after all of these years (and one chance meeting 6 years ago) that here we were meeting again at the same grocery store, in the same town, and in the same state. It turns out we live only 10 minutes from each other and both of us have 4 year olds (that are only 2 months apart) that will be starting kindergarten next year at the same school. We have gotten together 3 times already in the last couple of days. What a chance meeting in 2 completely random places???? We have all come to the conclusion that we were meant to be friends and that we were meant to come together again for one reason or another. Was this a coincidence or fate? I don't know, but we are so glad it happened.

Just a quick one......

Just a quick update here. It has been HOT here in North Carolina the past week or two. So needless to say we have been indoors more than we've been out. Plus we've been quite busy getting Austin ready to start Preschool next week, getting ready for a visitor from Colorado (YAY Heather), chasing our Mr. Independent Cody around as he gets into EVERYTHING, and getting the van fixed from our car accident a couple of weeks ago (YUCK)!!!!!

I LOVE this pic just because Cody looks so BIG and grown up here. YIKES ~ where has the time gone? He's becoming more verbal everyday (even if he can't tell you what he wants, by golly he will show you), he now has 6 teeth ( a little slow in the teeth category), he eats EVERYTHING, he's practically running now, he loves to torment his big brother and get into his things, and he's still the BEST sleeper ever.

Austin got this wagon for his 1st birthday from Grandma & Grandpa and now they both get to enjoy it, plus we now have this cool canopy Cody got from Grandma & Grandpa for his 1st Birthday. They have the coolest wagon on the block and they LOVE it!!!!

14 Months Old!!!!

Gosh, where has the time gone? Our CRAZY and WILD little man is 14 months old!!!!! He is walking everywhere, on the verge of running is more like it. He just LOVES to chase his big brother. He LOVES to pretend to talk on the phone. He LOVES LOVES LOVES to eat anything and everything. He is our climber with absolutely no fear. He is definitely like his daddy. He is our comedian. And FINALLY has 5 teeth now; they seem to be emerging every couple of weeks. I'm not sure of his weight and height right now, but I know he has gotten taller and he is heavier and is wearing 18 month clothes. He is growing up!!!!

While my parents were visiting us, we decided to head south for an overnight in Charleston, SC. What a BEAUTIFUL city with AMAZING history. We definitely want to spend some more time there; so many fun things to see. We ate yummy food, walked around the city, and took a carriage ride.

A Visit from Grandma & Grandpa........

We were all so excited to have Grandma & Grandpa come out, actually drive out, for a wonderful visit. We had so much fun visiting, watching movies, playing, eating yummy food, celebrating a birthday, BBQing, going on an overnight to Charleston, and just having good family time together. We all had a blast. Love you and miss you. Thank you for EVERYTHING!!!!
